I’ve had a long break from playing the game, but my dad plays regularly almost every day for hours. So I thought I would join him for a couple of games on a whim. However, I find my account Perma Banned.

In August 2022, someone managed to hack into my WG account and fraudulently process 4 transactions using PayPal. I instantly contacted PayPal to reverse these transactions and block them which they did and I received a refund total of £165.51. I can’t remember but I don’t think I contacted WG about this to notify them.

So I contacted WG now to ask why my account is suspended and said the following:

Your account was suspended because you’ve initiated a chargeback of a payment.

This suspension is due to the fact that the goods from the payment in question arrived in your account, but the transaction has been cancelled by your financial institution or the payment provider.

I’m really sorry about the situation you are having unfortunately, we need you to make the payment in question of 165.51 GBP in gold:

Once you have bought the correct amount of Gold, please let us know by answering this ticket, and we’ll immediately proceed with unlocking the account and remove the paid gold.

However, I’m very confused as to why I have to pay this to get them to unlock the account and remove said gold as I was not the one who made this transaction in the first place.

Why can they just not remove the gold already there and unlock the account?

they also said:

You will not receive that money back, since you are repaying an already existing debt. Unfortunately, since you did not contact us first before triggering the chargeback, our team cannot help you by unlocking your account without a repayment now.

SO I HAVE TO PAY £165.51 JUST TO GET ACCESS TO MY ACCOUNT NOW??? WTF

Not to mention how much I’ve probably spent on the game and given them already and this is how they treat their actual customers and not the scammers!

HOW IS THIS FAIR OR LEGAL?!?!
