Tracking Mechanics – usefulness of 536 track health?

With this setup on a T95 or a similar tank destroyer, you can have over 500 track health.
I have a limited understanding of how tracking mechanics work – eg. shooting the drive wheel causes you to damage the tracks twice, and generally tracking the enemy. With over 500 track health, even a 183mm gun would not track you in a single shot.

Is there anyone out there with a better understanding of how this would work in the game (for example artillery splash, or does rng apply to module dmaage)?

I think you can make valid arguments for using hardening on many tank destroyers, and the field mod is a complete no-brainer as it adds tons of tank traverse/crossing speed.
